Creation of thought ((So OPEN you wouldn't believe it)) Empty Creation of thought ((So OPEN you wouldn't believe it))

Diego was seated at one of the tables in the middle of the arts and crafts hall. There were other demigods and satyrs creating things at tables nearby, but he sat by himself. It was a little strange, because he had good friends among the satyrs, but they didn't like having to come with him to the arts and crafts building all the time. And Diego was here a lot. Here he could think and produce whatever he wanted. And it didn't matter if it was weird, because it was art; everything was weird or needed some sort of explanation behind it. Diego liked that about art - he could be himself.

Currently he was molding an aspen tree out of clay, which made sense since his last name was Aspen. It was going very well, but he was having a hard time with the roots. You see, he wanted to make them mold upwards and twist in strange patterns that would show its age. He loved old trees like that - they were often the the wisest, too. With a faint sigh, he picked up a metal toothpick and carefully molded the root. Then he broke one of them and closed his eyes, taking a deep breath so his irritation was not obvious. He glanced up at the other groups briefly while he pondered where to go next. He took off his navy blue New York baseball cap breifly as he smoothed his hair and then replaced his hat. He shrugged and went back to work. He was vaguely hopeing someone might join him, but he was perfectly fine with his artwork too. He picked up the art tool and fixed the root he had broken, then went on the next root.

Maybe he could start a painting after he finished his tree. It was a thought.

Selene was in the arts and craft area of camp. She did enjoy art but her latest piece was annoying her. She drew a picture of the gods but she just couldn't get it right. She kept easering certain details and drawing them in again but no matter what, it wasn't what she wanted it be like. Selene threw the pencil across the room in frustration. Why is it always me that gets things wrong? Why can't it be someone else? Selene rested her chin on her hand, she had given up on the drawing and looked around the room. There were demigods everywhere but she noticed in one of the corners, a satyr molding a tree out of clay. Selene hadn't seen him before. She was bored of drawing and wanted to go and make friends. Selene walked over to the satyr and sat down next to him. "Hello, I'm Selene Kidman. And you are?"

Diego looked up as a pencil was thrown across the room. It wasn't an uncommon occurrence - he often did the same thing himself, after all, when he was frustrated - but it was enough to make him look up. He glanced up as he heard someone approach him. It was a demigod, one had hadn't seen before. It wasn't surprising, though. The gods were keeping their promise to Perseus Jackson, and they were claiming and bringing children to camp right and left. It kept satyrs like him very busy, but he didn't mind. A friend gained was always an advantage, and he was a friendly person. The traveling aspect was fun too.

Diego smiled charmingly at the demigod who introduced herself as Selene. "Well hello Selene Kidman. The name's Diego Aspen. Nice to meet you." He swept off his baseball hat like it was a top hat (he had one, he just wasn't wearing it right now) and bowed as elegantly in his seat as he could. He wiggled his eyebrows, knowing that his horns could be seen poking over his curly brown hair just slightly. He replaced his hat and moved over so that if she wanted to, she could sit.

He returned his attention to the gnarled roots of his aspen tree. "So, what brings you here? Just saying hello?" He asked as he formed a gently curving root with his tool. No reason to be antisocial, and that wasn't how the laid back Diego worked anyway. He was a friendly person in general.

Selene smiled at the satyr, who introduced himself as Diego. She liked that name it was very... unique. Selene’s eyes drew to the tree he was carving. Diego looked very creative and the tree was carved very carefully and very well made. “Well yeh one reason I come over here was to say hello. And also I wanted to get away from the picture I just drew otherwise I would have to rip it up.” Selene laughed and turned her attention back to Diego. “Well that’s a nice tree you’re carving. Look at how careful the branches and the leaves are made. I say a very good piece of art.” Selene smiled, she was being honest this time, it really was good.
